The Compliments of the Season

Don't miss out on the Society's Christmas card!

It's now available from the Shop in packs of ten, priced at £7.50, including postage and packing.

All Canonical chronologists place “The Abbey Grange” in January 1897, so Christmas was only recently past. The grounds of the Grange presented a wintry aspect, with its pond frozen over but for a single hole ‘left for the convenience of a solitary swan’.   The contents of three wine glasses had already presented Holmes with a major clue, but just as relevant was the reason for the cracked ice.

The illustration is based on an original black and white drawing by Sidney Paget, colourised by Lynn Marie Goode, and used with permission.
