Sherlock gets the Royal Mail’s stamp of approval

“YOU HAVE BEEN TO THE WIGMORE STREET POST-OFFICE”

To mark the 10th anniversary of the modern-day adaptation of the Holmes mysteries, The Royal Mail has prepared a new set of stamps, featuring images from the award-winning BBC TV series, and other stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Six stamps will show characters from Sherlock, with Benedict Cumberbatch in his role as the title detective, Martin Freeman as the trusty Dr Watson and Amanda Abbington as Mary Watson.
And of course, Andrew Scott will feature too after his career-defining star turn as Jim Moriarty while another stamp will display Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes.
When UV light is shone over the stamps, hidden details are revealed!

A further four stamps, presented in a miniature sheet, feature new illustrations of stories from the Canon:
“The Adventure Of The Speckled Band”; “The Red-Headed League”; “The Adventure Of The Second Stain”; and “The Adventure Of The Dancing Men”.

The stamps go on sale on Tuesday, August 18.
However, no fewer than 30 specialist collectibles, including First Day Covers, presentation packs and postcards, can be pre-ordered from the Royal Mail Shop now:
