The Hound at the Watermill

July 29 @ 7:30 pm - August 8 @ 7:30 pm

THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES
a Sherlock Holmes mystery in the Watermill Theatre Gardens
by Arthur Conan Doyle
a new version devised by the Company

From 29 July to 8 August, we will be presenting The Hound of the Baskervilles for audiences to enjoy from socially distanced tables, each seating up to four people, outside in The Watermill Theatre’s beautiful gardens.

A mysterious murder, an ancient curse and a legendary detective…

Join us on the wild moors of Dartmoor and prepare for cryptic chaos with just three actors playing all the characters in a brand-new comedy version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story.

When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead with a look of horror still on his face and beside him the paw prints of a gigantic beast, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are summoned from Baker Street to investigate the crime and discover the truth about the Hound of the Baskervilles.

The show takes place outside in The Watermill Theatre gardens. Seats will be uncovered, and performances will go ahead whatever the weather, so bring a sun hat, warm clothes and waterproofs to enjoy the experience of watching the mystery unfold in the garden. You may also wish to bring a cushion.

Running time: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes plus interval

Tickets £100 per table. Each table seats up to four people, from your party only. (e.g. £25 per person for a table of four people, £50 per person for a table of two people) Tables are unreserved and you will be able to select your table on arrival.

Monday to Saturday evening performances at 7.30pm, doors open at 5pm. Thursday and Saturday matinées at 2.30pm, doors open at midday.

Box Office: 01635 46044

Social Distancing and Safety Measures
To ensure the safety of our audience members, performers, and staff, we have implemented social distancing measures, and this includes significantly reducing the number of audience members we can welcome onsite for each performance.

There will be only twenty tables available for each performance, which can each seat a maximum of four people from your party only. Tables are unreserved and you will be able to select your table on arrival. Each table will be in its own 2 metre x 2 metre area with space between neighbouring tables and aisles.
