AGM and Film Evening
November 13 @ 6:45 pm - 10:00 pm
Due to the Covid Pandemic and the UK government restrictions and guidance, the Annual General Meeting of the Society was postponed from May 15th and will now be held on Friday 13th November 2020 at 6.30pm by Zoom.
Immediately following the AGM the Society’s 2020 Film Evening will be held, again using Zoom to stream the film and provide live simultaneous chat during the showing, for those who enjoy such discussion. Chat is easy to hide if you would prefer just to watch the film.
Our host Matthew J. Elliott makes a welcome return. He is a scriptwriter well known for the US radio series “The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”. Matthew provided the adaptations of The Yellow Face and The Three Students for the Society.
This year’s Film Evening offering will be the 1933 movie A Study in Scarlet, starring Reginald Owen. Regular attendees at the Film Evening will recall that, a couple of years ago, we screened a 1932 film in which Owen played Dr Watson, opposite Clive Brooks’ Holmes. Here, however, he takes centre stage in an adventure which, despite the title, bears no similarity to Conan Doyle’s novel, and even features a character from The Red-Headed League! To find out what it’s all about, please join us on Zoom for a fun evening, and a chat between friends.
Again, there will be no charge for attending this meeting.
Please note that there is a meeting attendance limit of 100 people including the speaker, so book early to avoid disappointment.
This event has now reached its maximum capacity. If you have been unable to make a booking for this event and would like to attend please contact: email@example.com as places may become available.
