Afternoon Tea

May 26 @ 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Old Royal Naval College

The finale to our May Festival is:

Tea at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10 9NN

The Old  Royal Naval  College in Greenwich is a world heritage site.  We will meet just inside the Visitor’s Centre. This is a short walk from the pier and DLR station, and directly opposite the Cutty Sark.

Tea is at 12:30 and will include sandwiches, scones, pastries and tea.

It will be followed by a short, guided tour.

Given its history as a Palace and indeed a Royal Hospital for Seaman, many of the locations that we will see predate the Victorian era but as part of our tour we are also hoping to see the Victorian skittle alley, where we may be able to play briefly. The College advise that access to the skittle alley cannot be guaranteed. The College and its grounds are frequently used as locations for filming, indeed the tour includes the sites used in the two Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes films.  You may get a glimpse of Toby or a relative as a dog show will be on the grounds on that day, though hopefully not the Hound of the Baskervilles….

Price per head for tea and tour £30.

Numbers are limited so please book early.  Closing date is Friday 10 May 2024.  Attendees must specify at time of booking if they have any allergies, food sensitivities, or accessibility requests. Please note any wheelchair users need to advise their attendance by 25 April.
