Description

Date of publication: 1994
Edited by Antony J Richards
154 Pages

On Thursday 27 October 1994 members of the Society spent an absorbing evening at the Royal Institution of Great Britain.
The main purpose of the visit was to hear a talk given by Dr Bryson Gore entitled Chemistry is . . . Elementary. An illustrated transcript of the discourse delivered by Dr Bryson Gore now forms the centrepiece of this Society publication. To put the talk in context Holmes, Chemistry & The Royal Institution also contains a series of essays which assess the chemical work of Holmes, along with his relationship with the Royal Institution.

The book, co-authored by Dr Antony Richards, a former member of the Society's Council and Dr Bryson Gore, is beautifully produced and illustrated throughout.

The cover has been reproduced from a specially commissioned watercolour by Douglas West.

"A truly absorbing many, many pipe read"
